H I S T O R Y

A family of Göteborg, Sweden, the Lindquists consists of 9 members. Arne Lindquist sits on the board of the Wasa corporation and thus makes enough money to support his wife and seven kids. The mother, Anna Lindquist, is a dreamseer and as a result, somewhat crazy. But we'll get back to that. The parents are both huge fantasy geeks and when their first child came into the world, they named him Trygve Théodred after a Lord of the Rings character.

This would prove to become quite the trend. Next time Anna got pregnant, it turned out she was carrying triplets, and wow, fun, right? The three were named Emil Éomer, Emilie Éowyn and Einar Eärendil. After that, it was pretty much decided they weren't having any more kids. But nature is funny that way and 5-8 years after the E triplets were born (pick a year, people who are apping them), Anna got pregnant again and LO AND BEHOLD, it was another litter of triplets. Thus the family was concluded with Ulla Urwen, Fredrik Faramir and Linnéa Lúthien. After that, well, you know the drill.

Anna is crazy in an endearing sort of way. She is a botanist, but isn't actually working anywhere, so she keeps a greenhouse and a garden herself and has, through the years, been able to breed new types of plants. One of which she named Buffy the Vampire Slayer. No, I am not kidding. In addition, she made all her kids learn Elvish (Sindarin and Quenya), because she's just that kind of person.

Emil always thought his mother was a nutcase, but loved her anyway, so he always did what she asked him to do, unless it was extremely crazy. One good thing she did him though, her forcing Elvish on them from a young age made him pretty adaptable to new languages and when he entered university at 18, he went for languages first, studying linguistics and German (as an extension of his high school class), but after three years when he'd gotten his bachelor in both of said subjects, decided to study international relations instead and moved to Stockholm to pursue his studies in the capital.

His childhood otherwise was pretty uneventful, at least according to him. Living in a house with eight other people could be fairly crazy at times, he suspects, but he never felt tense around any of them, and as a result became very laid-back and carefree, although when Trygve moved out, he took up the role as the oldest responsible brother.

He ran track in high school, and practiced tae kwon do, which was really the only way he ever used his powers for things that had personal gain. Superhuman reflexes weren't that interesting after all, especially not when he had a sister with wings. He always was one for personal accomplishment.

As part of his international studies, he figured he'd need studytime abroad. And so he basically pulled out a map, closed his eyes and pointed, and his finger fell on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Which wasn't really the optimal choice, but hey? Why not, right? He could learn Portuguese and get wasted on tequila. Good times.

Or maybe he just wanted away from Sweden for a while. So in the fall of 1998, he packed up and went to Rio, where he's lived for the past five months. Recently, his mother informed all her kids the world was going to end, and since they all pretty much had hilarious powers to speak of, they couldn't not believe her. When Emil found out which cities the battle was going to be played out in, he talked with his fellow triplets, and they decided together to backpack through them all, because if stuff was going to blow up, at least they'd get to claim they'd seen it before it did.

So he sits in his apartment in Rio and waits for Emilie and Einar, counting down the rest of 1998.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Laid-back and intelligent in a practical kind of way, Emil prefers talking to reading and experience to studying, although he knows he can't get away with just the one. He can get riled up easily, especially when provoked, and he doesn't really stand for bullshit, except from his crazier siblings, because they've just always been that way.

He's social, but won't go out of his way to connect with people. As long as there's a common interest, that's usually enough for him to keep a conversation going. He's not particulary loud or outrageous, and doesn't tend to take to laughing easily.

People might think him approachable, but keep their distance anyway, simply because he's a bit rough-looking, but Emil would rather be friends with those who do approach him anyway, so he doesn't particulary mind.

Likes to pull stunts and practical jokes, but has been lax in that department as of late.

A P P E A R A N C E

Tall, lanky and hilariously Aryan, Emil can be considered handsome enough, although he doesn't do much with the fact. He dresses mostly in whatever's clean, and has been known to buy new things when they're not, which results in a somewhat scruffy look.

Despite all his laid-back tendencies, he has a good posture and looks like he could take a punch. Has taken punches as well, and has a few scars, but nothing too dominant.
